Ab Klink was the Dutch minister of Health, Welfare and Sport from 2007 to 2010. As such, he led the implementation and early monitoring of the major healthcare reforms introduced in the Netherlands in 2006.
Professor Klink is now a member of the Board of Directors of Coöperatie VGZ, the second largest health insurance provider in the Netherlands. He is also part-time professor of Healthcare at the VU University in Amsterdam.
From 1985 to 1992, he worked for the policy institute of the Christian Democratic Alliance, and subsequently served at the Ministry of Justice. From 2003 to 2007, he was a member of the Dutch Senate.
He has also worked as a partner at strategic consulting firm Booz & Company, where he specialised in the operation of the Dutch healthcare market.
